Jose “Pepe” Diaz
Jose “Pepe” Diaz, known as the “father” of trick roping,
turned his talent into a thriving business that he passed on to his son,
professional rodeo trick roper, Jerry Diaz. “Pepe” wowed the crowds with his speed, concentration and agility. Diaz was a retired master charro – a Mexican
horseman and trick roper – who founded the nation’s first Charro Association.
