2003 Hall of Fame Inductee
Bose Ikard*
Bose Ikard had a rich, full and dignified life on the
west Texas frontier. He built a legacy through his deeds and unshakable
trustworthy character as a trail driver and as Colonel Charles Goodnight's
right hand man. As his confidential assistant, Ikard's responsibilities made it
necessary to transport large sums of money, serve as bodyguard and act as a
"banker." Colonel Goodnight wrote of Bose Ikard: "I have trusted
him farther than any living man. He was
my detective, banker and everything else." These attributes earned him the
respect and trust of those around him.
