Herb Jeffries

Herb Jeffries, entertainer, movie star and songwriter hardly sums up the life and times of this legend. Jeffries starred in 1930s movies “Harlem on the Prairie,” “The Bronze Buckaroo,” and “Two Gun Man from Harlem.” Jeffries played singing cowboy character “Bob Blake” and rode a white horse named “Star Dusk.” Her Jeffries became America’s first African American movie hero and provided encouragement and hope to children and adults of all colors during the early days of film. Jeffries continues his multifaceted career today through lectures, concerts and recording on the Warner Western label.
